Accepting the Fear of Falling

My heart is full

Of love and sadness

As I witness

Humanities decline.

As I venture

Out from the wilderness

With increasing infrequency

It’s easy to see the changes

That gradual sliding conceals.

Equanimity and tolerance

Seem like a dream

Like holding sand in my hands

From slipping earthward

Leaving me with a feeling of wanting.

It’s easy to condemn

Those we don’t understand

And in doing so

Add to the weight of hate

Pressing upon countless hearts

Across our blessed earth.

Gravity is relentless

As is stupidity and insensitivity.

Breathe in love

How ever you experience it

And radiate this

Inward and outward

Our mother earth needs our love

As does everyone and everything
